China 2010 Saw Compulsory Traffic Insurance Lose CNY7.2bn

The loss in the business of compulsory traffic accident liability insurance for motor vehicles (hereinafter compulsory traffic insurance) amounted to CNY 7.24 billion in 2010, according to data from the Insurance Association of China.

Wherein, underwriting loss accumulated to CNY 9.71 billion and income from investment reached CNY 2.47 billion.

Data showed up to 101.41 million of motor vehicles paid CNY 84.05 billion for compulsory traffic insurance in 2010. Compensation stood at CNY 62.1 billion in 2010 for 12.28 million vehicles.
